Labour has won four seats in Glasgow on the regional list ballot.

The party got Pauline McNeill, Scottish Labour leader, Anas Sarwar, Former Glasgow MP Paul Sweeney and, Pam Duncan-Glancy elected on the peach ballot paper.

The Conservatives got two MSPs on the list in Glasgow again

Annie Wells was elected once again, this time as top of the Tory list. Sandesh Gulhane was also returned at the Conservatives held on to both seats they had in the city

Wells was first elected five years ago as number two when the party also had Adam Tomkins elected.

Seven seats were up for grabs on the regioanl vote, on the peach ballot paper.

They seats are allocated based proportionately on the number of votes each party gets.

A series of calculations are run meaning whre theGlasgow Times:  total of votes are divided by the number of MSPs each party already has elected plus one.

Labour won the first two with Pauline McNeill then Anas Sarwar.

The third seat went to the Tories and Annie Wells and the fourth to the Greens with Patrick Harvie.

Labour had enough votes to win seats five and six with Paul Sweeney and Pam Duncan-Glancy elected.

The contest for the final list place came down to between the Tories and Greens.

Once the numbers were added up it meant Sandesh Gulhane of the Tories took the final city seat on party list ahead of Kim Long for the Greens who missed out.

The SNP winning all eight constituency seats meant they did not win any on  the regional list.

While the city has four new MSPs in Kaukab Stewart of the SNP, Paul Sweeney and Pam Duncan Glancy of Labour and Sandesh Gulhane of the Tories there is no change in the number of seats each party has from the last election.

Full election coverage and the full results will be in the Glasgow Times on Monday.
