MEMBERS of the Blairdardie community have revealed they are "scared" to leave their homes during the day amid fears of knife attacks.
One man who has lived in the area for 26 years has told how violence has escalated over the last year.
The 48-year-old, who wished not to be named, revealed that he and his neighbours feel "on edge" after "three stabbings" in the past month.
He said: "This is the third stabbing in a month. I have grown up here, everyone used to go out to play football and there were no problems.
"All of a sudden there has been so much violence.
"Everyone feels very on edge at the moment. Most people who live here are elderly so it is intimidating for them."
He added: "We are a very close-knit community and I don't know what has happened over the last year.
"We all talk about what is going on and we feel apprehensive and almost scared to leave our homes not just during the night but during the daytime, too.
"These attacks are taking place in broad daylight."
