A BARRHEAD schoolgirl put her best foot forward to raise money for Lapwing Lodge Outdoor Centre.
Amie Thomson, who is a member of the 7th Barrhead Brownies and the 3rd Barrhead Beaver Scouts, marched just over six miles as she coined in cash for the activity centre, on the Gleniffer Braes.
The seven-year-old, who has spent a lot of time at Lapwing Lodge since she was born, wanted to help raise funds to keep it open so that other young people can enjoy it in years to come.
Amie (pictured above) did the Kiltwalk with three generations of her family, including her mum Elizabeth Thomson, gran Ima Burnett and aunt Catherine Burnett.
Catherine told the Barrhead News: “We did the walk along the cycle path from Paisley to Johnstone and, once we finished, we got in the car and did a last lap around Lapwing Lodge.
“Amie did great – a lot better than me. She is good at walking and really enjoys it.
“We raised £1,040, which was amazing, so a big thank-you goes to everyone who donated.”
