STEVEN GERRARD has been crowned as Premiership Manager of the Year after leading Rangers to their 55th title this term.

The champions will be presented with the top flight trophy following their final fixture of the campaign with Aberdeen on Saturday.

And Gerrard's side have the chance to mark their achievement by securing an Invincible league term as they set their sights on a place in the history books.

Gerrard was this week named as the Scottish Football Writers Association Manager of the Year and he has now picked up the League award as well.

He said: “I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of my coaching staff and back room team. Our relentless pursuit of success has ensured we have achieved our 55th league title for Rangers.

"It is a privilege to manage this 150 year old institution and I know how much this title win means to our fans across the world.

"I am grateful for the support I’ve received from the board, particularly our Chairman.

"I believe we have much more work to do, and success can come again, if we continue to strive for better.”
