DETECTIVES investigating an assault on a man in Rutherglen have now released a description of a man they want to speak to.
The force's CID revealed they are looking for a man who was wearing a blue tracksuit after a 49-year-old was attacked near an underpass on Burnhill Street at its junction with Mill Street on Thursday at around 4 pm.
We previously reported that the victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said inquiries are ongoing and officers are particularly keen to identify a man described as being around 18 to 30-years-old and wearing a blue tracksuit in connection with the incident.
He was last seen running from the area in the direction of the underpass to Chapel Street.
Detective Constable Ashley Hind, of CID at Cambuslang Police Station, said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may be able to help to come forward.
"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV from the area.
"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 2274 of 13 May, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
