ALMOST 1,000 youngsters from across East Dunbartonshire will be returning to swimming lessons.
Staff at Allander Leisure Centre, Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre and The Leisuredrome in Bishopbriggs can’t wait to welcome the children back.
Employees are currently working on a return date for the Adult & Child lessons, which have been delayed due to social distancing requirements. Once confirmed, swimming development will email customers who booked with the options available.
Despite Covid-19 measures in place, the pools are back to life once again.
Councillor Vaughan Moody, joint leader of the council, said: "This feels like a hugely important step for everyone involved as we know how important exercise and water safety is for young people. Add in a heap of fun and it's easy to see why our pools are so popular.
"Trust staff have worked very hard to make this happen, and I know that they are so happy to be welcoming visitors to the centres once more and teachers are delighted to be working with the children again.
“They have created a safe environment and I would ask everyone to be patient and follow the rules and guidance that are in place."
