PLANS have been put forward to open a new takeaway in Gilshochill.
Food To Go Glasgow Ltd has requested to turn an empty unit at 127 Glenavon Road into a hot food store.
The vacant property, which occupies two middle units, has lain empty since November 2018.
It has been marketed for retail use, but there have been no offers to use the site for retail purposes.
An application has now been lodged to Glasgow City Council, asking if the site could be used as a takeaway, serving “pizzas, kebabs and chips etc”.
The store’s proposed opening hours would be 11am to midnight.
Four jobs will be created, which are likely to be filled by local residents.
There will be two full-time and two part-time positions available.
