ALAN Brazil has struggled to hide his dismay at Celtic's bid to appoint a new first team manager - and his talkSPORT colleague Ally McCoist is loving every minute of it.

The Hoops saw months of negotiations with ex-Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe collapse at the tail end of last month and have since turned their attention to Yokohama F Marinos' Ange Postecoglou.

However, that move could be delayed due to red tape as the Greek-born Australian does not hold the necessary coaching credentials. UEFA require top-flight managers to hold either an A or a B license, or to have been enrolled in the pro license programme.

European football's governing body have warned Celtic that it could take "several weeks" for Postecoglou to gain the right credentials.

Relaying the news to listeners on talkSPORT, Brazil raised his concerns over the potential appointment of the 55-year-old former Australia boss - and Rangers legend McCoist couldn't help pouring salt into his co-presenter's wounds.

Brazil said: “I’m not sure I want to read this out, to be honest. Is this a wind-up?

“No pro license? Oh, this had got to be a wind-up, no! Yokohama? They make motorcycles!

“Ange Postecoglou? Dear, oh dear. He’ll be a great manager… where do they come up with these guys?”

McCoist replied: “Honestly, I shouldn’t wallow in your despair but I’m loving every minute of it, it’s fantastic!

“He’s not bad actually, the guy is not bad. He’s one of Australia’s top coaches.”
