A MAJOR road has been shut by cops after the discovery of "potentially hazardous material".
Emergency services including Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are currently at the scene on Cumbernauld Road.
The road is closed between Knowe Road and Lyndsaybeg Road.
Police say there is no threat to the wider public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at a property on Cumbernauld Road in Chryston following a report of potentially hazardous material.
"Cumbernauld Road is currently closed between Knowe Road and Lyndsaybeg Road as a precaution while police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.
"Nobody has been injured and there is not considered to be any wider threat to the public."

Due to an ongoing emergency incident at Chryston Main Street services services 38C will be unable to serve Muirhead & Chryston.
Services will terminate at Crowwood Hotel on A80.
