A PERSON has died following an incident on the railway track.
Services between Glasgow Central and Kilmarnock are currently suspended.
Emergency services were called to Stewarton earlier today, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to the line in Stewarton at 3.20pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
ScotRail advised rail users that services between Glasgow Central and Kilmarnock have been suspended and ticket acceptance is in place with Stagecoach West.
On Twitter, they said: "We're working closely with the emergency services and will get the line reopened as soon as possible."
