A MAN is in hospital in "very serious" condition after he was reportedly found in a corrosive substance in a flat. 

It's understood the 26-year-old was brutally attacked in a flat in Dunswin Court, Dalmuir on Friday evening. 

He is in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

A spokeswoman for the health board described his condition as "very serious".

A source told the Glasgow Times the man was found in a "corrosive substance" but it is understood acid was not used in the attack.

Police are investigating the incident and confirmed they were called to the scene at around 7.20pm. 

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Enquiries are ongoing following the report of a 26-year-old man found injured at a property in Dunswin Court in Clydebank around 7.20pm on Friday, June 4, 2021.

The man suffered serious injuries and has been receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains."
