STUNNING photographs of Glasgow’s past will welcome back the public to the Maryhill Museum when it reopens.
The historical centre, based in the Maryhill Burgh Halls, hopes to welcome back visitors from July 5.
A new exhibition, called Jos Treen Glasgow Photo Journey, 1978, is opening from the same day to greet guests.
His pictures capture Glasgow at a period of great change for the city, saying of the work: “I went out to record the lives and the environment of the people I lived within Glasgow. I shopped at the same shops, signed on at the same Job Centre, visited the same pubs.
“I didn’t go out to specifically record the appalling housing and poverty, that was a backdrop to their resilience and humour.”
The Burgh Halls Trust will also open voting on a competition to vote for an official, legally recognised flag for the area, which will be the first of its kind in Glasgow.
