A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl is in hospital with serious injuries after she was allegedly attacked by a dog.

It is claimed the youngster was bitten by the dog on Lenzie Terrace in Springburn at around 9am yesterday.

She was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow with serious injuries.

A 25-year-old man and woman were charged in connection with the attack and the dog was seized.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 9.05am on Wednesday, June 9, we received a report of a 9-year-old girl having been bitten by a dog on Lenzie Terrace in Springburn.

“Officers attended and a 25-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were charged in connection and the dog was seized.

“The girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment for serious injuries.”
