A NEW hot food takeaway could be developed in the West End after Glasgow City Council officers gave proposals the green light.

The former shop at 266 Woodlands Road, which is part of a four-storey building with privately owned flats, can be transformed provided residents agree to the location of a flue.

The store will operate from 9am until 11pm, Monday to Thursday, 9am until 12am on Friday and Saturday and 12am-12pm on Sundays.

A planning application was previously brought before the local review committee who requested more details on the proposal which did not include information on cooking/heating equipment or fume dispersal methods.

Members of the committee also asked for full specification on the proposed ventilation system, including the design, size, location and finish or a full maintenance schedule of the ventilation system to ensure its continued effectiveness.

The application was presented before committee this week. The developer will now have to gain the permission of the owners of the flats to allow the flue to be attached to their part of the building.
