A MAN has been taken to the hospital after he was allegedly assaulted in North Glasgow.

It is claimed the 38-year-old was attacked in Maryhill Road on Thursday night. Reports online suggested the incident happened close to Jaconelli's chip shop.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment for minor injuries. 

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He has been released. 

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 8.55 pm on Thursday, June 10, police received report of the assault of a 38-year-old man on Maryhill Road in Glasgow.

“A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and has been released and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

“The 38-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.”
