TRIALS have begun in Glasgow to test the effects of giving booster Covid jabs to the public.
Fully vaccinated people will be given a third vaccine dose, which will be varied between participants and could be different to the original shot they received, the BBC reports.

The Cov-Boost study will test whether top-up shots offer greater protection to people amid fears around mutant strains such as the Indian variant.
Doctors have recruited people over 30 who have had both doses and now want to trial top-ups on those over 70.
Their reactions will be monitored for a year and early results are expected by September.

While fears are growing around mutant strains of Covid-19, existing vaccines have been found to be "highly effective" in preventing hospital admission with the Delta variant of coronavirus, according to new data from Public Health England.
Both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Oxford/AstraZeneca jabs are just as good at coping with the Delta variant first identified in India as the Alpha variant first identified in Kent, the data suggests.
