WEST End cops have been cracking down on motorists who overtake cyclists with less than a car's width.

The Partick community officers were out on cycle patrol as part of Operation Close Pass on Tuesday.

Police have previously said overtaking a cyclist with less than a car's width is known as a close-pass. They advised that this is a careless driving offence.

Drivers can face three points on their licence and a £100 fine if they commit such an offence.
