A HOUSING association has unveiled its plans for the future.

Wellhouse Housing Association will build 200 new affordable homes across sites in the East End over the next four years.

The organisation will also invest £3million in upgrading existing homes including works to improve kitchens and bathrooms.

Work is already underway on development plans and it is hoped work can begin at vacant sites later this year or early next year.

The organisation’s director, Martin Wilkie-McFarlane, who is celebrating five years at the helm said: ““WHA is committed to providing quality homes in places where people want them and bringing new homes to the area is the next chapter for the organisation.

“However, it is important that we don’t just build houses. We want to create neighbourhoods with a range of amenities within easy reach for the community, and we believe the work which has been done by ourselves and those in the area means Wellhouse is ideally placed to achieve this.”
