NATHAN EVANS has hit back at Twitter trolls who made fun of him for wearing an England top.
The singer, who shot to stardom with his smash hit Tiktok rendition of an old sea-shanty, performed Scotland's national anthem before the men's team faced off against the Czech Republic on Monday.

But online trolls took issue with an old photograph of the Airdrie-born performer in which he is wearing a red England top.
Responding to a tweet from Evans, which read: "We’ve got a game on our hands today, lets do it boys," one user took issue with the star's use of the word "we" and posted the offending picture.
Evans replied: "'We' have aye, I’m still Scottish, that T-shirt in the picture disny change that."

He later branded Twitter "easily the most toxic platform" apparently in response to the abuse.

Evans take on O Flower of Scotland was broadcast online before the match, which saw Scotland beat 2-0 in their first international tournament game in more than 20 years.
Scotland face-off against England on Friday at 8pm at Wembley.
