A HOMELESS woman left a man scarred for life after a brutal bottle attack.

Cassandra Wallace, 45, lashed out at Steven Morrison near Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall in the city's Buchanan Street on February 27 2020.

The victim's injuries included a nasty eight-inch wound near his armpit.

Wallace pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Morrison to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

She appeared in the dock in crutches at the High Court in Glasgow.

Sentencing was deferred until next month.

Mr Morrison had got chatting to Wallace at the stairs of the concert hall.

He recognised her, but did not know her name.

A row broke out and Mr Morrison allegedly hit Wallace.

Prosecutor Chris McKenna said Wallace then brought out a bottle which broke after she struck the man with it.

The injured victim walked off, but continued to "gesticulate" at his attacker.

Wallace then caught up and again hit him with the broken bottle.

As well as the injuries to his arm, Mr Morrison also had wounds to his scalp and neck.

Wallace was arrested the next day near Glasgow Central Station.

Tony Lenehan, defending, said Wallace had previously been married before "everything fell away from her".

He added: "She was at the time homeless."

The advocate told the hearing Wallace felt "vulnerable" after Mr Morrison appeared to lash out having been "a victim on more than one occasion" living on the streets.

Lord Weir remanded Wallace in custody as sentencing was deferred for reports.
