Capes at the ready, it’s time to step up and find out if you have what it takes to save the city.

Think you can handle it? Or maybe you have a younger sidekick whose ready to become the star of the show? If so, then why not put them through their paces at the Superhero Training Academy events taking place at the Pollokshields Bowling Green this Thursday to Saturday.

The action-packed schedule was devised by filmmaker and artist Etienne Kubwabo who, having previously created Scotland’s first black superhero DJ ET, has some seriously super credentials.

Glasgow Times:

All bases are covered in the programme which includes mask making, ‘flying’ lessons, and circus skills.

Glasgow Times:

The training days, which are being run by the Tramway as part of their ‘Beyond Walls’ season, are completely free and cater to all age groups – there’s even a chance for adventurous adults to get involved with a Stretch and Strengthen session.

Event organisers at Tramway said: “Go for those abs of steel, loosen those hamstrings for your turning high kicks, and everything in between.

"A combination of conditioning and stretching exercises with a pilates and yoga influence.

"Above all an hour for you to stretch, strengthen, breathe, and feel like a super hero afterwards.”

Glasgow Times:

If you’re passionate about justice (or just looking to kick the summer holidays off with a bang) then be sure to get your spaces reserved soon.

Just remember folks, with great power comes great responsibility… are you ready for it?
