A BARLANARK-based support service for young woman who have experienced trauma or abuse has been given a glowing report by inspectors.
What If (female) Project was praised for the help it offers to its users’ wellbeing, its staff team, and its leadership.
The Calvay Centre hub, on Calvay Crescent, works with around 16 women, aged 18 to 25, with complex needs, including addiction and homelessness.

And during a recent virtual visit by regulator the Care Inspectorate, inspectors rated the service as ‘very good’, the second highest ranking.
Fiona Nicolson, head of Children, Families and Health at operator Quarriers, said: “The recent ‘very good’ Care Inspectorate report acknowledges the dedication and high quality support offered by staff who work alongside the young women we support there, during the pandemic in particular.
