FAMILIES with plans to enjoy Fathers' Day at St Luke's were disappointed after the popular spot closed.

Contact tracing has been linked to the Calton watering hole and restaurant which was closed at the weekend and yesterday.

It is understood that a positive Covid test has been linked to the pub.

Two fathers with plans to enjoy the venue who contacted the Glasgow Times were disappointed when they were told it was closed.

Health chiefs in Glasgow confirmed that contact tracing was underway but would not provide any further details to protect patient confidentiality.

A spokesman for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "We can confirm Test and Protect carried out contact tracing linked to St Luke's and The Winged Ox pub in Glasgow.

"To respect and maintain patient confidentiality, no further details will be released, however, we can confirm any identified positive case(s) and contact(s) have been advised to self-isolate.

"We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to adhere rigorously to the general advice and requirements that are set out on NHS Inform and Scottish Government websites, including immediately self-isolating and seeking a test upon developing any Covid-19 symptoms."

St Luke's and the Winged Ox was approached for comment.
