A CAR was set alight outside of a Maryhill home early this morning in a "willful" attack. 

Two people approached the driveway of a house on Hugo Close at 12.40am and set fire to a Volkswagen Golf. 

The blaze caused "extensive damage" to the vehicle, while also damaging another car parked near to it. 

There were no injuries reported as a result of the attack. 

Police have now launched an appeal for information.

Detective Constable Holly Canning said:  “Luckily no-one was injured during this incident. Our investigation is continuing to establish more details. 

"We have been carrying out enquiries and checking local CCTV for more information on the two men responsible for setting this fire.  They were both wearing grey hooded tops and I would appeal to anyone who saw them acting suspiciously in the area to contact us.
