ALL dressed up with nowhere to go is a sentiment that many of us will relate to after the past year.

Being stuck indoors during lockdown gave many only the option of visiting the supermarket to interact with the outside world.

This is exactly what gave two Glasgow School of Art fashion graduates inspiration for their latest collection.

Pals since their uni days, Inga Kovalerova and Franz Maggs brought glamour to Tesco with their first collaboration.

Inga said: "With this collection, we wanted to draw attention to mental health and this cabin fever feeling during lockdown.

"These dresses in contrast to the environment portrays that feeling of being all dressed up with nowhere to go.

"It's been a tough year and I think that it has made people realise how important their mental health actually is."

The dresses on show include an orange and blue dress made by Franz, and a spectacular ball gown created by Inga.

Both Inga's and Franz's creation have been pictured by Ross Gourlay around Glasgow, including Tesco Springburn and in grocery store Roots, Fruits and Flowers.

Inga said: "The managers in both shops were fantastic.

"It was obviously quite an unusual thing to see when you are doing your shopping.

"We had a lot of interest from people doing their shopping and everyone was really lovely about it.

"Our model Layla was amazing too, it was a great shoot for everyone."

"It also brought attention to our message with mental health and cabin fever."

Not only is the 'All Dressed Up and Nowhere To Go' collection inspired by raising mental health awareness, but both Inga and Franz hope that it will help to raise awareness of 'slow fashion'.

Inga said: "I think the past year has made a lot of people realise that we don't need to be buying clothes at the rate we have been.

"There are a lot of cases for the idea of 'slow fashion' vs 'fast fashion' but not being able to go out to places as much as we were able to before this past year has made a lot of people realise that we just don't need to buy something new every single week.

"The 'All Dressed Up and Nowhere To Go' collection shows this because it's about using those grander pieces and outfits on these special occasions, but the only special occasion we've had is going to the supermarket!"
