ROYAL Mail has announced a brand new scheme to take on 1,000 new apprentices.
The company will offer UK-wide level two apprenticeships as part of The Postal Apprenticeship scheme, with those completing the scheme being offered a full-time role at the end of their apprenticeship.
Ricky McAulay, operations development director, said: "We placed a real emphasis on ensuring that our scheme has a range of transferable skills so that successful candidates can take what they learn with them for the rest of their careers.

“Having started my work at Royal Mail as a Postal Cadet in 1986, I know the benefit that these initiatives can have on a career I look forward to seeing these aspiring apprentices join us at Royal Mail.”
The scheme will run from September and will last 13 months and the training will include a mix of online and on-the-job training, with the latter making up 80% of the placement.
Applications for The Postal Apprenticeship scheme will open on June 28 at jobs.royalmailgroup.com.
