A LUCKY birthday girl will celebrate her landmark 60th by kicking off a tour of UK bingo halls with a Glasgow visit.

Yvette Price-Mear OLM, a long time Mecca Bingo customer, will visit the Glasgow Forge hall tomorrow before visiting Wishaw, Paisley, Hamilton and other city clubs across the weekend.

The party will conclude on the day of Yvette's birthday, December 19, at the firm's oldest club, Rosehill.

The grandmother-of-three hopes to use the Bingo-a-Thon, which is being hosted by Mecca in honour of its 60th anniversary, to raise money for three charities near to her heart: Pet Bereavement Support, which she founded, Carers Trust, Mecca’s own charity partner, and her local Scout Group the 4th Mansfield Woodhouse Scouts.

Glasgow Times:

She said: “I knew I wanted to do something really special for my 60th birthday and when I found out that Mecca was also turning 60 this year it just felt right to create a 60 club Bingo-a-Thon.

"I’m grateful that I’ll be able to raise money for my own charities as well as the Carers Trust and have bingo fun along the way.”

The soon-to-be sexagenarian will be provided with free bingo as well as food and drink at each club, and her winnings will go towards the fundraising pot.

Catherine Warrilow, at Mecca Bingo, said: “She’s been a bingo fan for over 30 years, so we can’t think of a better way to celebrate both of our 60th birthdays!”
