A YOUNG man who phoned police and said his dad had stabbed him ended up getting himself arrested.

Tristen Unett, 21, called the emergency services on May 25, 2019, saying he had been seriously assaulted by his father.

But when cops arrived at the house in Govan, they noticed no-one was injured.

On Wednesday, Glasgow Sheriff Court heard: “One officer spoke with the offender’s father who explained that the accused was heavily intoxicated and that he wished for him to be removed from his house.

“The police informed the accused that his father wanted him to leave. He refused and began to shout and swear in an aggressive manner.

“Police warned him about his conduct, but he failed to desist. He was placed under arrest and started waving his arms and legs to prevent handcuffs being put on him.

“He was conveyed to Helen Street police office. He made homophobic remarks towards an officer, stating gay boy, p***y b*****d, you have posh w****s you wee gay boy.

“In response to caution and charge, he said shut up you wee m***o, you’re a s****y.”

In a separate incident the following month, Unett became aggressive towards cops who were within the Govan home.

He admitted spitting towards an officer after being taken to Govan police office.

The prosecutor said: “He shouted get the f**k out of my house, I’ll f*****g charge you, I’m not f*****g telling you anything.

“He had injuries to his face and wouldn’t state how he came to have these injuries. He said to police he wished to make no complaint.

“As he was heavily intoxicated, police encouraged him to go to his bedroom and calm down. He shouted, ‘get to f**k’. Officers attempted to escort him to his bedroom. He said to one of the officers, ‘I swore at them. I think I called them b******s or something.

“He was removed into a cell van.”

Unett’s lawyer told the court the offences are more than two years old.

He added: “He was living with his father and the relationship was not good. There was a lot of friction. That friction gave rise to police attending. On both occasions he was under the influence and in the second occasion he was the victim of an incident.

“Despite this, he is shocked and ashamed of his conduct. He advises me this is not the way he usually behaves. He has not been in trouble since and appears to have changed his ways significantly.”

Unett was ordered to carry out 270 hours of unpaid work within the community.

Sheriff Daniel Kelly told him: “If you don’t comply you will receive a jail sentence. I’m not convinced that you fully accept your guilt and I have some concerns about your compliance with the order but it’s up to you to disprove me.”
