There have been 2,639 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours.

This is a slight decrease from yesterday's figure of 2,836 new cases. 

A further 31,695 new tests for Covid-19 were conducted that reported results. Of these 8.9% were positive, the same as yesterday's test positivity rate.

The Scottish Government confirmed that in the last 24 hours 1 new death was reported.

There are 196 people in hospital in the last 24 hours with recently confirmed Covid-19.

Scottish vaccination figures now stand at 3,747,510 people having received their first dose of a covid vaccine and 2,679,357 people having received their second dose.

These figures come as we reported that Health Secretary, Humza Yousaf said he will not rule out the possibility of another lockdown in winter. 

The MSP said said we are, "very much in the midst of a third wave" as case numbers continue to rise.
