CRUEL thugs sent a schoolboy to hospital following a brutal attack near the banks of Loch Lomond. 

The 16-year-old was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley for treatment to serious arm and head injuries.

Police suggested groups of people who were gathered at the scene in Balloch Country Park at around 5.40pm on Tuesday, June 29 may have filmed the attack on their mobile phones. 

Detective Constable David Jamieson, of Dumbarton Police Office, said: “There were several groups of people around at the time of the incident and we would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“If anyone has information, including mobile footage, that might help with our enquiries then please get in touch.

"If you have information then please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2710 of Tuesday, June 29, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
