MARTIN COMPSTON surprised a fan at a football pitch and posed for a photograph.
The Line of Duty and The Nest star appeared to be dropping in for a kickabout at the Portobello Powerleague pitches in Edinburgh yesterday night.

He was spotted by Hibernian fan Kieran Skey at the "Porty" pitches and kindly posed for a picture.

A keen footballer, Compston was a youth player with Aberdeen as a teenager.
He left the Dons on leaving school and signed for his local Greenock side Morton for the 2001-2002 season.
It was not a good season for the team, who were relegated to the Third Division.
