A HOUSEBUILDER has secured a detailed planning permission for the provision of more than 100 new homes in Moodiesburn.
The application to amend the current planning consent, has allowed Taylor Wimpey West Scotland to provide its detailed proposals for housing mix, landscaping and building materials for its Stoneyetts View development.
Located off Gartferry Road, the site will provide a mix of two- and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached houses, as well as four-bedroom detached homes, with a total of 121 new homes planned.
Stoneyetts View will also benefit from the delivery of key infrastructure as part of a masterplan vision for the former Stoneyetts Hospital site.
It will benefit from new roads as well as the tranquillity of the existing woodland, which will be retained and enhanced with new woodland paths to link to the existing countryside footpath network adjacent to the site.
As part of an existing legal agreement with North Lanarkshire Council, the development will also provide financial contributions towards affordable housing, off-site play provision and education.
Colin Blair, technical director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We look forward to working with the local authority and our developer partner to secure the technical consents that are now required to allow our range of new homes to be built as part of the overall vision for this site.
“Stoneyetts View represents a significant and continued investment in North Lanarkshire by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland.
“As well as playing our part in the delivery of new homes within the masterplan, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local area, which includes supporting more than 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.”
The development has also been designed to create a sense of place and maximises the latest Scottish Government Planning Policy for Designing Streets.
