A POPULAR Shawlands cafe has shut its doors for good, with plans revealed for its replacement.

Pink Inc Cafe closed for the final time earlier today, bidding farewell to customers after being a part of the South Side community for two years.

The cafe had become a favourite for themed afternoon teas.

Addressing customers on social media, owners of the Pink Inc Cafe said: "Thank you to all our customers and suppliers who have supported us the past two years.

Glasgow Times:

"We hope the pinkness brought a little bit of joy to your day. Pink Inc is now permanently closed.

"At 259 Kilmarnock Road a lovely restaurant will appear soon, keep an eye out for it.

"Keep following this account to see what will be on offer. Big hugs, Pink Inc team."

Pink Inc Cafe will be replaced by "Scotland's first grazing restaurant", The Olive Boardz.

The Olive Boardz will offer platters and boards with charcuterie-style snacks.

Customers will also be able to BYOB - bring your own bottle - to the restaurant.

My Shawlands BID team said: "It’s a bittersweet Monday as we say goodbye to a well-loved business in Shawlands and hello to a new one…

"The owners of Pink Inc Cafe have officially closed their doors today, after two years of adding a touch of pink to Shawlands with their themed afternoon teas.

"The venue will soon be home to The Olive Boardz, who will be opening Scotland’s first grazing restaurant. And if that didn’t get your attention, it’s also BYOB.

"Best of luck to The Pink Inc team on their future endeavours and a big welcome to The Olive Boardz, we wish you lots of luck with your first venue."

The opening date for The Olive Boardz is not yet confirmed.
