A MAN who was stabbed in a late-night attack in a Glasgow park may have been a dog walker.

An area of the South Side park remained cordoned off today as police officers investigated the stabbing which happened at around 9pm on Tuesday night.

The Glasgow Times understands that the victim was a dog walker, however, Police Scotland has yet to confirm this.

The man has been treated for a stab wound and medics have described his condition as stable.

A police cordon remained in place this morning, with officers extending the taped-off area at around 9.30am.

A group of eight specialist officers arrived at the scene shortly after and began combing a grassy area between the fence of the park and houses on Bowfield Place.

A Penilee resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told Glasgow Times: "I've heard there was a gentleman out walking his dog that was stabbed, that's all I know."

A resident of nearby Barshaw Road, who also did not want to be named, said: "I saw police appearing at around 10pm last night. It was all cordoned off about that time.

"It's such a shame that this happens around here.

"My wife is scared to walk the dog by herself at night because of it. It's a shame.”
