IF you have always fancied learning to play the bagpipes, you might have your chance at Piping Live - Glasgow's International Piping Festival.

The full programme for the event taking place from August 7- 15 has been unveiled. 

A small number of live shows will take place, with ticket prices starting at £5 up to £17.50.

Piping enthusiasts are set to be treated to performances by Angus Nicolson and Bradley Parker as well as a pipe band showcase.

There will also be a competition that will see soloists perform a medley of their favourite hits.

Learners may also have the opportunity to learn to play the bagpipes as part of an online session.

Finlay MacDonald, Artistic Director for Piping Live!, said: “This year we’ve adapted and innovated, responding to the world around us to ensure we can continue to provide a platform for the world’s best pipers and other traditional artists. We will also welcome audiences at home and around the globe online to enjoy this year’s Piping Live!.

“We have a fantastic mix performances, competitions, sessions, book launches, learning opportunities and international collaborations on offer over the nine days and it will be a joy to bring this to life safely.
