COPS are hunting two thugs after a failed murder bid at a block of flats in Renfrew.
A 38-year-old man was "seriously injured" when he was pounced on by the brutes inside a home on the town's Paisley Road at around 2.30pm yesterday.
Renfrewshire detectives believe it was a targeted attack on the victim and are carrying out enquiries.
The man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, for treatment. Medics describe his condition as stable.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 2.30 pm on Monday, July 19, 2021, a 38-year-old man was seriously injured after being a attacked by two men at a flat in Paisley Road, Renfrew.
"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.
"Officers, who believe the attack to have been targeted, are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing."
