MORE than £25,000 worth of drugs was seized by police in a series of raids across Lanarkshire. 

Officers from East Kilbride station stopped a motor in the town's Chalmers Crescent shortly after 4pm on Monday, July 12.

Around £700 worth of cannabis and £600 worth of cocaine was seized by cops and two men, aged 18 and 22, were arrested and charged. They were due before Hamilton Sheriff Court the next day. 

Bellshill Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit officers raided properties in Greenhead Road and Barra Avenue, Wishaw, at around 8.45am on Thursday, July 15. 

In total, they found 11,800 worth of cannabis and £3,470 cash from the two locations. 

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged. He has been released on an undertaking. 

Officerse from the same Bellshill unit struck again at 12.30pm the following day in Lawhill Road, Carluke. They discovered 9,800 worth of cannabis and £2,760 worth of cannabis resin. 

33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and was due before Lanark Sheriff Court today.
