A HIT Glasgow-born author has confirmed his second book will be coming out soon after the roaring success of his debut novel.
Shuggie Bain author Douglas Stuart topped the New York Times bestseller list with his first book about the trials and tribulations of a young boy growing up in tough 1970s Glasgow.
Now he hopes to replicate that success with his second full length work, entitled Young Mungo.
Published by the independent outfit Grove Atlantic, the book follows a love story between two men born on opposite sides of Glasgow's bitter sectarian rivalry.
It took the New York-based author, who has spoken at length about his experiences growing up in Pollok and Sighthill, five years to write and comes out on April 5, 2022.
Announcing the news via Twitter, Mr Stuart said: "Thank you once again to Grove Atlantic and the incredible Peter Blackstock for taking a chance on my super sad, super queer, fiction."
