1 Naked Soup

The popular Kersland Street hangout has introduced a new look continental café-bar menu with extended opening hours and alcohol available in the evenings. Brothers Josh and Daniel Hannah have a devoted neighbourhood following for their homemade soup and loaded bagels that can now be enjoyed with beers, natural wines or a spritz cocktail.

As the sun shines, the yearning for churros and ice cream grows. Form an orderly queue at Loop and Scoop on Great Western Road or you could visit their new shop in Bearsden. Try filled churros with salted caramel sauce, strawberry gelato or Scottish tablet ice cream. Good times.

Owner Tom Lei launched their Hong Kong street food menu on Byres Road as a sister venue to student favourite Dumpling Monkey. A grocery store with hot food to go or available for delivery. Order grilled chicken dumplings, char sui baozi, won ton and kung po chicken.

The pinnacle of the Dennistoun brunch bunch, join them on Duke Street for creative and colourful plates. Recent blockbuster sandwiches to go have included grilled korma chicken, onion bhaji, rocket and herb salad with Bombay mix or mozzarella stuffed lamb kofta, peach and harissa relish with tzatziki.

5 Partenope

A new Italian bakery and coffee shop for Shawlands from owners Sara Capaldi and Toni De Carlo. Expect a mix of savoury and sweet bakes – their chocolate Guinness cake is popular – alongside expertly made coffees and a small but perfectly formed sit-in menu offering a taste of Italy.
