A MAN was mugged outside trendy West End bars in the dead of night.

The victim was walking in Eldon Street at around 3am today when he was approached by the robber.

He was threatened before handing over an unspecified amount of cash.

The crook fled the scene in the direction of the River Kelvin and Kelvinbridge Subway station afterwards and thankfully the victim was uninjured.

The robber is described as being white, around five feet and six inches tall. He was wearing a baggy black hooded top with grey sleeves and grey jogging bottoms.

Constable Eden Crothers of the Glasgow Robbery Unit said: “The victim was uninjured but understandably shaken by the experience.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity on or around Eldon Street in the early hours of Thursday morning to come forward.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or private CCTV.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 0540 of July 22 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
