SCOTLAND has recorded over 1,000 new cases of Covid-19 and no deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data.

The Scottish Government confirmed that 1,237 people have reported positive Covid-19 tests since Saturday.

This is a decrease from yesterday's figure of 1,307 new cases.

A further 18,180 new tests for Covid-19 were conducted that reported results. Of these 7.5% were positive an increase from yesterday's positivity rate of 6.1%.

In the last 24 hours no deaths of someone who tested positive for Covid-19 within the previous 28 days were registered. 

Therefore, the death toll according to the measure used by the Scottish Government remains at 7,848.

There were 480 people in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

Scottish vaccination figures now stand at 3,997,105 people having received their first dose of vaccine and 3,079,492 people having received their second dose.

It was stated that Public Health Scotland (PHS) had not received data from NHS Tayside laboratories since 4.50pm on Friday, July 23.

PHS and NHS Tayside are working to resolve the issue.
