Glasgow’s youngest parliamentarian has urged the city’s young people to get the Covid-19 jag.

David Linden, Glasgow East SNP MP, 31, got a second Pfizer dose at Easterhouse Sports Centre this weekend,

He said it was vital those eligible for the jag come forward and play their part in defeating the virus.

Last week the Glasgow Times reported a lower take up of the vaccine in Glasgow among younger people with only 62% of 18-29 year-olds taking up the offer of an appointment so far.

Linden said:“We know that there are still a number of people, particularly in the youngest age cohort, who haven’t yet come forward for their Covid-19 vaccine. That’s why it’s absolutely vital that people make use of the many vaccine drop-in centres right across our city.

“We are all longing to get back to normality as quickly as possible and that’s why I’m encouraging young people right across the city to join me in rolling up their sleeve and playing their own part to move us all forward.”
