A GREENOCK pub was transformed into a haven for Hearts FC fans as filming took place in town for a new TV series.

The Old Bank Bar in William Street was bedecked in maroon and white for a scene in the new Dougray Scott production, Crime, reports our sister title The Greenock Telegraph.

Jambos flags were seen hanging out of the windows and actors were kitted out in their traditional-style Hearts scarves, hats and tops.

A blue vintage coach was parked across the road from the pub, suggesting that the scene will form part of a flashback in the series.

Cast and crew gathered in and around William Street near lunchtime and looked busy planning the next scene despite the soaring Inverclyde temperatures.

Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh is adapting his novel, Crime, into the series.

It's expected to air exclusively on BritBox later this year.

Scott, who will play the character of DI Lennox in the production, has been spotted filming at a few locations in Inverclyde in recent months.

His acting stablemate Douglas Henshall has also been connected to Inverclyde through a TV series this year.

His BBC One drama Shetland has been filmed at local landmarks over the last few months, including Lunderston Bay.

Production teams also transformed a newsagent in Kilmacolm, and Greenock's west end will feature in the production.
