Sergeant Claire Walker of Ayr Police Station said: “It has now been 3 weeks since Gordon was last seen. The family remain extremely concerned for his welfare and urge anyone with information to come forward.

“Extensive search activity has been carried out around the Turnberry area and other police enquiries aimed at tracing him are ongoing.

“It is out of character for him to be out of contact with his family for such a long period of time and we are keeping them informed as our enquiries continue.

“We continue to urge anyone who believes they may have seen Gordon at any time since the early afternoon of Tuesday, 6 July to get in touch as a matter of urgency.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 2460 of 6 July.”
