DELIGHTED restaurant staff posed for a picture with one of the country's most beloved stars.

Sir Alex Ferguson recently popped into La Lanterna in the West End for dinner.

The Govan-born former Manchester United boss posed for a snap with a beaming chef and restaurant manager Luca Conreno alongside former Rangers player Bobby Watson.

Sir Alex was the subject of a new documentary called Never Give In, which charts his rise from the Glasgow shipyards and local juniors teams to footballing stardom, culminating in his legendary term as manager at Old Trafford.

The Italian restaurant, which also has a West End base, is known for attracting big names.

We previously reported how former Celtic star Kieran Tierney dined in the popular spot, as well as Rangers royalty Ally McCoist, Marti Pellow and current Ibrox chief Steven Gerrard.
