BOOZY louts "urinating", "drinking" and "vandalising" areas of the centre have been clamped down on by police.
Patrols have been stepped up in Merchant City following a spike of anti-social behaviour among drunken youths.
Additional officers from Glasgow City Centre's Police Division have been pounding Clyde Street and Maxwell Street after receiving multiple complaints of disorder.
Speaking at this week's Merchant City and Trongate Community Council meeting, Sergeant
Phil Showell said: "What we have been working on immediately in the Merchant City and concentrating on is very much Clyde Street and Maxwell Street through complaints of youth disorder.
"We are aware that there is anti-social behaviour taking around drinking, urinating and vandalism.
"Extra people gathered there because of the sunny weather so there has been quite a lot of extra patrols there as a result of that."
Undercover officers will also be speaking with members of the public and shop owners at the Trongate and along Argyle Street as part of the crackdown.
