AMAZING drone photos have shown the successful installation of the new Sighthill Bridge in Glasgow.

Over the weekend, the M8 motorway was closed in order for the pedestrian and cycle bridge to be installed.

Eye in the Sky Glasgow has since shared some interesting photos and a video, captured by drone.

Paul Sweeney MSP shared one image and wrote: "Amazing to see the new Sighthill Bridge in place over the M8. A new Corten Steel icon for the city.

"The north and west flanks of the Inner Ring Road were completed 50 years ago. Woodside Viaducts now require major reconstruction. We should consider burying or replacing this scar?"

The bridge is part of the £250m regeneration of Sighthill to provide better links to the city centre.
