Police called to scene as TYRE blocking motorway sparks urgent driver warning
POLICE were called to the scene after a tyre was blocking drivers on a busy motorway.
Commuters using the M74 this morning were warned that one lane was blocked by the errant rubber wheel.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that emergency services were on the way at around 8am today.
The trunk roads managing body said traffic was moving well despite the blockage.
A policespokesman said: "We were made aware of a tyre obstructing a lane on the M74 near Junction 6 shortly after 7.55am today.
“The roads authority was made aware to recover the tyre.”
