SCOTRAIL has issued a warning of delays to customers due to ongoing emergency speed restrictions.

These restrictions are currently in place on several routes as heavy rain is forecasted for much of Scotland today.

Services to and from Glasgow are among those affected.

In a statement on Twitter ScotRail said: "Due to delays caused by the ongoing speed restriction, Edinburgh/Glasgow via Falkirk High services will operate a half hourly service at this time."

Trains will leave Glasgow on the hour and 30 minutes past the hour.

It comes as we previously reported that heavy rain caused commuter chaos and flooding across Glasgow yesterday.

Several train services were delayed or cancelled.
