ORGANISERS of the Queen’s Park Disco Sessions have urged ticketholders to take a Covid test after the events were moved to a new venue in Glasgow’s East End.

The sold out discos were set to take place at the South Side Arena this weekend, but have been moved to Barras Art and Design (BAaD) following Scotland’s move beyond Level 0.

Ticketholders have been asked to take a Covid test before arriving at the venue and may be asked to provide proof of a negative result.

Those experiencing symptoms have been told to “not come within a country mile of the event” which will be one of the first to go ahead since most legal Covid restrictions were lifted last week.

Test and Trace and temperature checks will be carried out on arrival and face coverings will be required when entering and being served at the bar or moving around the space.

In an email sent to attendees, organisers have stressed that they are taking coronavirus safety measures “extremely seriously”.

The statement reads: "We appeal to you to help us open up the safest way we can in order to protect our staff, the future of our events, and those in our communities – during what is still a public health emergency.

"Please do not come within a country mile of the event if you are experiencing symptoms – there will be more parties up ahead, so please just sit this one out.

"Take a test before arriving at the venue. Tests are free, easy to obtain and take 20 minutes to carry out."

The Disco Sessions will return to BAaD on September 18 and 19.
